Dear colleagues and students,
we would like to invite you to our next meeting „Die Junge Niere 2024“ in Munich on the 28th and 29th of June 2024.
This year's “Junge Niere” will start on June 28th at 4:30 pm with a welcoming session by PD Dr. Stefanie Steiger and Prof. Dr. Miriam Banas in the “Kleine Aula” at the main building of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU) Munich, Geschwister-Scholl-Platz 1 (1. Floor, Room A120). The LMU building is located in the heart of Munich and can be reached from the main train station within 15 minutes by U-Bahn or bus/tram. Afterwards, we welcome Prof. Dr. med. Rafael Kramann, Director of the Department of Nephro-Cardiology and Institute of Experimental Medicine and Systems Biology at RWTH Aachen. In his keynote lecture, Prof. Kramann will provide an overview of his cutting-edge research on mechanisms associated with chronic kidney disease, tissue fibrosis and cardiovascular complications using state-of-the-art technology. After the lecture, we will go on a short guided tour through the historical site of Munich along the Ludwigstrasse passing the Siegestor, Bayerische Staatsbiobliothek, Feldherrnhalle, Residenz and Marienplatz before we go for dinner at the restaurant „Laden“ at 7:30 pm.
On Saturday, the 29th of June, we will start at 9:00 am with the scientific programm where all students get the chance to present their outstanding research data and to discuss their findings with other national and international medical and biology students. For all presenters, please prepare a 10 minute presentation (in German or optional in English) plus a 5 minute Q&A. The meeting will take place at the “Kleine Aula” at the main building of the LMU Munich, Geschwister-Scholl-Platz 1 (1. Floor, Room A120). Food & drinks will be provided throughout the day. After the last presentation (approx. at 5-6 pm), the best talks will be awarded and we will close the meeting with some final remarks. A detailed scientific programm will follow, once the registration forms have been submitted.
For the registration, please fill out the form of the attached document and send it to the indicated address either via email or post. The deadline for registration is the 30th of May 2024. There are no registration fees; travel and accommodation costs need to be covered by the participants themselves.
Those of you who would like to further explore Munich and plan to stay one more night, Munich offers many activities, for example the Summer Festival Tollwood 2024, Festival of the Future, Midnightbazar, Munich Film Festival, as well as museums and dance bars.
We‘re looking forward to welcome you to the „Junge Niere 2024“ in Munich.
Yours sincerly,
